Nathan Aspinall has beaten Ryan Searle 6-0 to reach the Slovak Darts Open quarter-finals in Bratislava on Sunday afternoon. The Englishman delivered the most emphatic scoreline of the last-16 session so far, ending Searle’s run before the evening finals block at the Incheba Expo.
The result sends Aspinall into Sunday night’s quarter-final stage, where the remaining players will fight through the quarters, semi-finals and final for the inaugural Slovak Darts Open title. The event is the ninth European Tour stop of the 2026 season and carries a £35,000 winner’s prize. For Aspinall, the manner of victory is as important as the scoreline.
Aspinall Makes A Brutal Bratislava Statement
Aspinall’s whitewash matters because it sharply changes the tone of the closing day. Searle had arrived in the last 16 after beating Kim Huybrechts 6-3 on Saturday, but he was given no route into the contest as Aspinall moved through without dropping a leg, according to the updated PDC Europe results page.
Rob Cross had earlier edged Kevin Doets 6-5, so Aspinall’s clean sweep stands out as both a performance marker and a warning to the rest of the draw. With Michael van Gerwen, Stephen Bunting and Ross Smith still part of the wider Sunday picture, a six-leg burst from Aspinall gives the evening session another major contender to track.
