Wessel Nijman Beats Rob Cross To Win 2026 Slovak Darts Open

Wessel Nijman beat Rob Cross to win the 2026 Slovak Darts Open in Bratislava on Sunday, sealing the title at the inaugural PDC European Tour event in Slovakia.

The Dutchman defeated Cross in the final at the Incheba Expo, completing a statement run through Finals Day and adding another significant result to his fast-rising 2026 campaign. The result followed Nijman’s 8-3 win over Cross in the Slovak Darts Open final, which closed the event’s first visit to Slovakia.

The tournament ran from June 19-21 and carried added importance because it marked the first PDC European Tour stop staged in Slovakia. Cross had reached the final after coming through the same side of the draw, but Nijman finished the weekend as the player lifting the trophy, as reported in The Sun’s live results coverage.

Nijman lands another marker on the European Tour

For Nijman, this is the kind of result that keeps sharpening the conversation around his place among the sport’s most dangerous emerging title threats.

The win also gives the Slovak Darts Open an emphatic first champion. With Michael van Gerwen and other seeded names beaten earlier in the event, the final became a direct test of whether Nijman could turn opportunity into silverware against an established former world champion.

He did exactly that. Cross leaves Bratislava with another deep European Tour run, but Nijman’s title is the result that will shape the event’s first history.
