Rob Cross will face Tom Sykes in the Slovak Darts Open semi-finals after the last-four line-up was confirmed in Bratislava on Sunday night.
The other semi-final will see Ross Smith meet Wessel Nijman, leaving four players standing at the year’s ninth PDC European Tour event. Cross reached the semi-finals with a 6-2 quarter-final win over Nathan Aspinall, while Sykes matched that scoreline against Jermaine Wattimena.
Smith came through a tighter 6-4 win over Andrew Gilding before Nijman beat Mike De Decker 6-3, according to the official PDC Europe results page.
Cross and Nijman keep title routes alive
The draw now gives Cross a direct route to another European Tour final at a moment when his form has sharpened across both ProTour and stage events. Sykes, meanwhile, has already removed Cameron Menzies and Wattimena on finals day, making his run one of the clearest stories of the Bratislava weekend.
Nijman’s place in the last four also matters. The Dutchman has been one of the season’s strongest ranking-event performers, and a meeting with Smith gives him another chance to turn sustained scoring power into silverware.
With Michael van Gerwen, Stephen Bunting and Nathan Aspinall all out, the Slovak Darts Open title race has opened up into a genuine four-man sprint.
