Wessel Nijman beat Mike De Decker 6-3 in Bratislava on Sunday night to reach the Slovak Darts Open semi-finals. The Dutchman came through the fourth quarter-final of the evening session at the Incheba Expo, setting up a last-four meeting with Ross Smith as the first PDC European Tour event staged in Slovakia moved towards its finish.
The result was confirmed on the official PDC Europe tournament page, which lists De Decker 3-6 Nijman in the quarter-final section of the Sunday evening schedule. It followed Nijman’s dominant 6-1 win over Stephen Bunting earlier in the day and kept him in contention for the GBP35,000 winner’s prize.
Nijman Keeps Slovak Darts Open Run Alive
Nijman’s route has become one of the sharpest stories of finals day. With Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Gian van Veen and Bunting all out, the draw has opened up for a player who has already built a strong 2026 ranking campaign.
De Decker had arrived in the quarter-finals after edging Ryan Joyce 6-5 in the last 16, but Nijman controlled the scoreboard when the semi-final places were decided. The win means Nijman now faces Smith, who beat Andrew Gilding 6-4, while Rob Cross and Tom Sykes contest the other semi-final.
