Rob Cross will face Kevin Doets in the Slovak Darts Open last 16 on Sunday after the confirmed Bratislava schedule placed the former world champion in the opening knockout session.
Cross moved into the last 16 after beating top seed Gian van Veen 6-1 on Saturday, while Doets earned his place with a 6-2 win over Damon Heta. The pair are now listed together in Sunday afternoon’s round-of-16 schedule at the Incheba Expo, according to the confirmed Slovak Darts Open schedule from PDC Europe.
Cross Has A Clear Route Into Sunday Night
The tie matters because the Slovak Darts Open reaches its decisive phase on June 21, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all due to follow later in the evening.
For Cross, the Doets match is a chance to turn Saturday’s statement win over Van Veen into a deeper European Tour run. Doets, though, has already removed Heta from the draw and arrives with enough rhythm to make the opening last-16 contest awkward.
The winner will move one step closer to the business end of the ninth European Tour event of the season, with £35,000 waiting for the champion in Bratislava, and it keeps Cross in the conversation after a week in which the seeded names have already found the event difficult to control.
