Michael van Gerwen and Stephen Bunting are both set for Sunday’s Slovak Darts Open finals day in Bratislava after surviving a chaotic second-round programme.
The inaugural Slovak Darts Open has already lost several major names, with Gerwyn Price, Gian van Veen and Jonny Clayton all falling before the last-16 stage. That leaves Van Gerwen and Bunting as two of the biggest remaining draws heading into a condensed Sunday schedule at the Incheba Expo.
Van Gerwen and Bunting carry big-name weight into Sunday
The PDC’s confirmed Slovak Darts Open draw and schedule lists Sunday’s afternoon session for round three, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in the evening session.
Van Gerwen’s route now gives him a clear chance to turn a turbulent European Tour weekend into a title push, while Bunting’s continued presence matters after several seeded players failed to make it through Saturday.
For the PDC, Sunday has become a useful test of depth as well as star power. The big names still standing have to handle two sessions in one day, but the shocks already delivered mean another outsider run in Bratislava cannot be ruled out. That makes Van Gerwen and Bunting the reference points for a final day that still has enough danger to punish any slow start. Both now need clean finishing, fast rhythm and quick recovery between sessions.
