Ryan Searle will face Nathan Aspinall in the Slovak Darts Open last 16 on Sunday, 21 June, as the European Tour event reaches finals day at the Incheba Expo in Bratislava.
The all-English tie is one of the sharper fixtures in the afternoon session, with Searle having beaten Kim Huybrechts 6-3 in round two and Aspinall coming through 6-4 against Jim Long on Saturday night.
The winner will move into Sunday evening’s quarter-finals, with the semi-finals and final also scheduled for the same session. That makes the meeting more than a routine last-16 match: it is the gateway to a possible three-match title run in one night.
Searle And Aspinall Handed Finals-Day Test
The confirmed order of play from PDC Europe’s Slovak Darts Open schedule lists Searle v Aspinall after Rob Cross v Kevin Doets in the round of 16.
The event is being played over best-of-11-leg matches until the semi-finals, where the format moves to best of 13, before a best-of-15 final. A £35,000 winner’s prize is also on offer, with the prize money counting toward the PDC Order of Merit, ProTour Order of Merit and European Tour Order of Merit.
For Searle and Aspinall, the immediate equation is simple: win the afternoon match, stay in Bratislava’s title race, and set up a high-pressure Sunday night push.
