Michael van Gerwen is only 19th on the 2026 year-to-date darts earnings table, with Luke Littler holding a narrow £14,000 lead over Wessel Nijman at the top.

The latest ranking picture, published on Monday, underlines how sharply the PDC season has tilted before the summer majors. Littler sits first with £260,000 earned in 2026 ranking money, while Nijman is close behind on £246,000 after a dominant run across the ProTour and European Tour.

Ross Smith is third on £166,000, ahead of Gerwyn Price and James Wade, with Luke Humphries sixth despite his latest World Series success in New York not counting towards this specific table.

Van Gerwen’s Major Stretch Carries Extra Weight

The standout warning line is Van Gerwen’s position. The Dutchman remains high on the two-year PDC Order of Merit, but the DartsNews year-to-date Order of Merit update places him 19th for money won during this calendar year, on £88,000.

That does not immediately erase his established ranking cushion, but it sharpens the stakes around Blackpool and the autumn TV run. Van Gerwen’s floor and stage form has had flashes, yet the table shows the newer pressure points clearly: Littler is still banking heavily, Nijman is converting volume into titles, and the chasing pack is no longer waiting for the old order to settle.

For Van Gerwen, the next block is now less about reputation than evidence.
