Luke Littler produced another statement performance on Finals Night at London’s O2 Arena as the teenage sensation overcame Gerwyn Price in a thrilling Premier League Darts semi-final clash.

In one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the night, Littler showed composure under pressure to edge past the Welshman and continue his pursuit of another major Premier League crown. The world number one came into the contest after topping the regular season standings, while Price arrived full of confidence following a strong run of form heading into the play-offs.

6-4 at the half way break

The match lived up to expectations from the opening leg, with both players producing heavy scoring and clinical finishing. Price, who had previously enjoyed success against Littler during parts of the season, pushed “The Nuke” all the way and threatened to seize control during the middle stages of the contest.

However, Littler once again demonstrated why he is regarded as the sport’s brightest young talent. The teenager found another gear after the interval, punishing missed doubles from Price and producing a series of crucial finishes to swing momentum firmly in his favour.

Despite Price continuing to battle and firing in several trademark maximums, Littler remained composed in the closing stages, eventually sealing victory to book his place in the Premier League final at the O2 Arena.

The victory also extended Littler’s remarkable run on the big stage this season. Having already claimed multiple nightly wins during the league phase, the Warrington star arrived in London as the tournament favourite and handled the pressure superbly once again.

Price head to head record with Littler does not improve

For Price, it was another painful defeat against one of his biggest rivals, although the Welshman once again showed flashes of his very best darts throughout the evening. The former world champion had spoken confidently ahead of the semi-final after receiving positive news regarding recent health concerns and believing he was playing some of the best darts of his career.

Littler now moves on to the final with the chance to add another major title to his rapidly growing collection and further cement his dominance in the sport.
