The final East Europe route into the 2026 European Darts Open is now the key loose end in Leverkusen’s field, with one place still to be settled before the European Tour returns to the Ostermann-Arena.
PDC Europe lists the event for 10-12 July, with Nathan Aspinall back as the defending champion after beating Damon Heta 8-6 in the 2025 final. The official event page confirms a 48-player knockout draw, a £230,000 prize fund and a route into the European Championship race.
One qualifier still to land
The PDPA event listing shows the top 16 seeds already exempt to round two, including Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton, James Wade, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting, Gary Anderson, Chris Dobey, Nathan Aspinall, Ross Smith and Wessel Nijman.
The ProTour qualifiers and host-nation names are also listed, but the East Europe place is marked for 4 July. That makes the Nove Zamky qualifier more than a regional footnote: it is the last entry point into a draw already stacked with ranking pressure.
NineDartNews has already tracked the wider Michael van Gerwen Leverkusen record angle, while Wessel Nijman’s July position adds another layer to the Order of Merit picture.
The winner in Slovakia will not merely complete a bracket. They will enter a tournament where first-round money, European Tour ranking movement and the road to Dortmund all begin immediately.
