PDC Europe has opened a search for its first major female caller, with live auditions scheduled for the HYLO PDC Europe Next Gen weekend in Sindelfingen on 15-16 August.
The organisation is asking applicants to submit a video of up to two minutes, including a short introduction in German or English, three set score calls of 180, 100 and 26, one score of their own choice, and the official player announcements before a leg.
The fresh deadline gives the campaign a clear July hook: PDC Europe says the application window runs until 26 July, before selected candidates are invited to perform under live tournament conditions in Sindelfingen.
Why PDC Europe’s caller search matters
The judging panel adds serious stage weight. Russ Bray, Katharina Kleinfeldt, Philip Brzezinski, Daniela Bata and Franz Engerer are listed as the experts who will assess the live auditions, with winners earning a chance to call at PDC Europe Darts Galas.
For a sport built around sound as much as spectacle, the move is more than a novelty. The caller’s voice shapes the rhythm of a televised event, and PDC Europe’s campaign puts a formal route in place for women to claim that microphone on a major darts stage. It also ties the search directly to an active tournament weekend, not a studio-only casting process.
Full application details are available in PDC Europe’s female caller announcement.
