Gerwyn Price has admitted his focus is being pulled away from darts after beating Brayden Hall 6-4 to reach the US Darts Masters quarter-finals in New York.
The Welshman moved through at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, but his post-match comments carried more weight than the scoreline. Price said off-board commitments around a farmland project in Wales have left him struggling mentally across recent months, with the World Matchplay now looming in July.
Price told The Irish Sun that his mind is not where it needs to be, adding that he wants to get his focus fully back on darts.
Price Faces Wade With Bigger Test Ahead
The immediate consequence is still a high-grade quarter-final against James Wade on Friday night, with a semi-final place at stake in the World Series event. Price has already banked progress in New York, but the timing of the admission matters for a player still expected to shape the summer’s biggest PDC nights.
The former world champion remains one of the PDC’s biggest-stage threats, yet his own assessment suggests this is not simply a technical dip. With Blackpool approaching, the question is whether Price can park the distractions quickly enough to turn a scruffy win at Madison Square Garden into the start of a sharper run.
