Adam Sevada Route Puts Grand Slam Spot On Line At MSG

Adam Sevada has been handed Alex Spellman in Friday’s bet365 North American Championship quarter-finals at Madison Square Garden, where the winner will qualify for both the World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts.

The American enters the New York bracket as the No.2 seed and current CDC rankings leader, with the PDC’s eight North American representatives also involved in the US Darts Masters across the same two-day MSG show.

Jim Long opens against Brayden Hall in an all-Canadian tie, Leonard Gates faces Fred Krueger, and David Cameron meets Gary Mawson in the other quarter-finals. The semi-finals and final follow in the same Friday afternoon session, with every match played over the best of 11 legs.

Sevada Gets Direct Alexandra Palace And Wolverhampton Route

The added prize is what makes the draw more than a regional title race. Sky Sports reports that Friday’s North American Championship carries qualification for the World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts, giving Sevada, Spellman, Long, Hall, Gates, Krueger, Cameron and Mawson a direct route into two of the PDC calendar’s biggest stages.

For Sevada, the Spellman tie is also a quick second pressure test in New York, with James Wade waiting in his US Darts Masters opener on Thursday night. A strong MSG weekend would sharply lift his PDC profile before the summer schedule turns towards Blackpool and the World Series’ Australia-New Zealand swing.
