Michael Van Gerwen World Series Lead Cut As Luke Humphries Closes In

Michael van Gerwen remains top of the 2026 World Series Order of Merit, but Luke Humphries has cut the gap to six points after defending the US Darts Masters at Madison Square Garden.

Humphries’ 8-7 final win over Luke Littler in New York moved him to 26 points on the World Series table, according to the latest World Series Order of Merit standings.

Van Gerwen, who skipped the US Darts Masters after earlier wins in Bahrain and Copenhagen, still leads on 32. Littler sits second on 28 after reaching the New York final, with Humphries now third and Gian van Veen fourth on 19 following his semi-final run.

Down Under Events Can Shift The Race

The key twist is that the top three are not currently expected to add more World Series points before Amsterdam, with Van Gerwen, Littler and Humphries all set to miss the New Zealand and Australian Darts Masters.

That leaves Van Veen, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting, James Wade, Jonny Clayton, Josh Rock, Ross Smith and Damon Heta with a chance to tighten the race across Auckland and Wollongong.

The top eight on the World Series Order of Merit qualify as seeds for the World Series Finals, so Humphries’ New York defence has strengthened his Amsterdam position while keeping Van Gerwen within striking range.
