James Wade has issued a fresh major-title warning in New York, saying during US Darts Masters week that he will “100 per cent” win another PDC major before he retires.
The world number six remains one of the sport’s most decorated active players, with 11 televised major titles and another live chance to matter in the biggest rooms as the Blackpool build-up gathers pace.
Wade reached last year’s World Matchplay final, has made back-to-back UK Open finals and has also added Players Championship titles, but his latest message was not framed as nostalgia. Speaking at the US Darts Masters, he said he felt one of three recent major finals should have gone his way and insisted the door is still open.
Wade Frames Littler And Humphries As A Standard, Not A Stop Sign
The 42-year-old also pointed to Luke Littler and Luke Humphries as players lifting the value and profile of the PDC, rather than simply blocking his path. That matters because Wade’s game has always been built on timing, finishing and resilience rather than volume scoring alone.
His comments, reported by Darts News after Wade spoke in New York, land with the World Matchplay conversation already tightening. Wade does not need to sell his CV. The stronger point is that he still sees himself as a live threat when the draw reaches the pressure legs.
