Fallon Sherrock’s Blackpool route has sharpened after the confirmed 2026 Betfred Women’s World Matchplay draw kept a Lisa Ashton rematch alive in the bottom half of the bracket.
The PDC confirmed the eight-player field after the latest Women’s Series block, with the tournament set for Sunday, July 26 at the Winter Gardens. Sherrock enters as the third seed and opens against Deta Hedman, while defending champion Ashton faces Rhian O’Sullivan.

Sherrock’s Route Carries Real Edge
The headline risk for Sherrock is immediate: Hedman’s scoring power makes this a far tougher opener than her seeding suggests. If Sherrock clears that first hurdle, the draw points towards a possible semi-final against Ashton, who beat her 6-5 in last year’s Blackpool final.
That context matters. Sherrock won the inaugural Women’s World Matchplay in 2022, but Ashton’s 2025 title shifted the pressure back onto her rivals.
