Beau Greaves Becomes First Woman Seeded At PDC Players Championship Event

Beau Greaves has created another piece of darts history by becoming the first woman seeded for a PDC Players Championship event.

The 22-year-old, already one of the most important figures in the sport’s changing landscape, received the landmark seeding after Luke Humphries withdrew from Players Championship 22.

Greaves has been building a remarkable first full spell on the PDC Tour, having already become the first woman to win a PDC ranking title earlier this year and the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour, with her Women’s World Matchplay draw adding another same-day marker to her wider rise.

The latest milestone came during the Wigan double-header, with Greaves entering the seeded section of the draw for the first time, according to a fresh report from talkSPORT.

Greaves Milestone Underlines Her Rapid PDC Rise

Greaves’ wider form has made this feel less like a one-off statistic and more like another marker in a serious upward trend.

Her Players Championship 11 title in April included an 8-7 final win over Michael Smith, while her ProTour nine-darter further strengthened the sense that she is now forcing doors open on the main circuit.

The seeding did not turn into another deep run, with Ritchie Edhouse ending her Players Championship 22 campaign in round one, but the bigger story remains the same.

Greaves is now regularly changing the reference points for what is possible in PDC darts. With more Players Championship events still to come, her next breakthrough may not be far away.
