Gerwyn Price, Gian van Veen and Jonny Clayton all crashed out of the Slovak Darts Open on a dramatic second-round night in Bratislava.
Price was beaten by Cameron Menzies, Van Veen was knocked out by Rob Cross and Clayton lost to Ryan Joyce, according to The Sun’s live Slovak Darts Open updates.
The sequence turned Saturday’s evening session into one of the most open European Tour nights of the season, with three established names removed from the draw before Sunday’s closing stages.
Van Gerwen and Bunting survive the chaos
Michael van Gerwen and Stephen Bunting both avoided the same fate, keeping themselves alive for the final day at Incheba Expo. That matters because Sunday brings the third round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in one long sprint to the title.
For Price, Van Veen and Clayton, the exits are damaging because this was a clear chance to bank ranking money and momentum on a weekend without Luke Littler and Luke Humphries in the field.
Cross, Menzies and Joyce now carry major scalp value into Sunday, while Van Gerwen and Bunting will know the route to the trophy has shifted sharply. A tournament that already felt unpredictable has suddenly become wide open, with the final day now set up for a very different title race.
