Deta Hedman has been drawn against Fallon Sherrock in the 2026 Betfred Women’s World Matchplay, giving the veteran a headline quarter-final on her debut at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
The PDC confirmed the eight-player field and draw for the fifth staging of the televised women’s event, which will be played on Sunday, July 26 before the men’s World Matchplay final.
Hedman enters as the sixth seed and faces third seed Sherrock, the inaugural 2022 champion, in the bottom half of the bracket. The winner is due to meet either defending champion Lisa Ashton or Rhian O’Sullivan in the semi-finals.
Hedman steps into Blackpool bracket
Top seed Beau Greaves opens against Kirsi Viinikainen, while Gemma Hayter has been paired with Vicky Pruim in the other quarter of the draw. Ashton, who beat Sherrock to win the 2025 title, starts against O’Sullivan.
The line-up comes from the rolling Women’s Series rankings since last July, with Hedman and Pruim both listed for their first Women’s World Matchplay appearances. The confirmed bracket gives the afternoon session a sharp mix of pedigree and new storylines, with Sherrock, Ashton and Greaves all already established as Blackpool title winners.
The PDC’s Women’s World Matchplay draw sets up a compact eight-player knockout, with quarter-finals and semi-finals over best of nine legs before a best-of-11 final.
