Stephen Bunting Beats Niels Zonneveld 6-4 At Slovak Darts Open

Stephen Bunting beat Niels Zonneveld 6-4 at the Slovak Darts Open on Saturday night to reach finals day in Bratislava.

The Englishman came through a tight second-round meeting at the Incheba Expo, with live match data from Sofascore recording Bunting’s 6-4 win over Zonneveld in the European Tour event.

Bunting’s victory sends him into Sunday’s last-16 stage, where the tournament moves quickly from the third round into the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. It also keeps another seeded name alive on a day when the Bratislava draw has already produced several sharp results.

Bunting Keeps His Bratislava Run Moving

For Bunting, the value is simple: survive Saturday and earn a shot at the £35,000 title on Sunday. The Slovak Darts Open is the ninth European Tour event of the 2026 season, with the prize money counting towards the PDC Order of Merit, ProTour Order of Merit and European Tour Order of Merit.

Zonneveld had reached round two after beating Jan Sliacky 6-1 on Friday, but Bunting’s extra scoring and closing control proved enough across 10 legs.

The result gives Bunting momentum before finals day and adds another recognisable name to a last-16 field already shaped by wins for Rob Cross, Cameron Menzies and Andrew Gilding. It also keeps his European Tour campaign alive at the point where every session starts to carry real ranking weight.
